The conversion has cleverly turned the original buildings into an attractive Hotel and the workers cottages into individual guest suites. It has its own chapel and there is a small and interesting museum devoted to the catching of tuna fish. The seasonal migration of birds makes the surrounding area ideal for any bird enthusiast.
There are 157 comfortable rooms with 4 junior suites and 1 senior suite. Each has air-conditioning, terrace, mini-bar, satellite TV, safe, and 24 hour service. For the convenience of its guests there are two restaurants, one specializing in traditional regional dishes.
A choice of two bars, outdoor pool for adults and children, heated indoor pool, Jacuzzi, steam baths, fitness centre, card room, meeting rooms, newspaper kiosk, courtesy bus to nearby Tavira and a ferry boat to the Island of Tavira. During the high season an entertainment programme is available for both adults and children. The Hotel is approximately 30 kilometres from Faro Airport, 275 from Lisbon and 25 to the Spanish boarder making Seville only about two hours of driving. In the area there are four good 18-hole golf courses with more already in construction.
