The small but popular Hotel Rural Horta da Moura is located at the valley below the very fascinating small walled town of Monsaraz. in the central area of the Alentejo district of Portugal.
The Hotel popularity is based on both being adjacent to Monsaraz and for its typical Alentejo accommodation with a truly rural atmosphere. It maintains a good stable of horses for guests to ride out to enjoy the countryside, the shore of the massive Alequeva Dam and the various monoliths left behind by a previous civilisation.
The Hotel also provides a good base from which to explore the historic Alentejo, see the many ruined castles, visit vineyards to taste the different wines in their “Adegas” and enjoy the natural hospitality of the local people.
