Meridien Penina Golf & Resort Hotel
The elegant Penina Hotel is accepted as the traditional “Grand-Lady”
of the Algarve coast. Located close to the town of Portimão it has
spacious public rooms and 196 rooms and suites that provide the
perfect location for golfers and the family holiday.
In the estate of 360 acres there are the Championship Course, Academy
Course and Resort Course, all of which were designed by the late Sir
Henry Cotton. Within very easy driving distance there is a choice of
another seven courses, each to provide visiting golfers with varied
challenges to their accuracy and club choice.
The amenities and services of the 5-Star Hotel are extensive – there
are 188 bedrooms, 63 interconnecting bedrooms for families
and most bedrooms have spacious terraces with chairs. All bedrooms
have individual air-conditioning, safes, mini-bar, satellite TV and
Internet connection.

For the sports minded there are golf professionals and practice areas,
an Olympic sized pool, tennis club, health facilities, snooker room,
beach club, whilst the Penguin Village caters for the smaller guests.
The ladies have the convenience of a Beauty Salon. A courtesy transfer
service will also take the family to the Hotel’s Beach Club (seasonal).
All bedrooms are adapted for the disabled, in
terms of wide doorways, wide rooms etc; however, bedrooms are not adapted to
wheelchair-bound persons although all the hotel doors are wide enough to
accommodate a wheelchair. There are ramps to the hotel entrance and around
the hotel and grounds. In the public areas there are also toilets adapted
for the disabled.
