Job Resources

However, some people can't stand that feeling that they're stuck. They don't want to be in the rut that they are in, and are willing to go to any extreme to get out of it. If you're in this situation, you need to understand a few things. First, jobs are scarce. Second, many people would kill to have your job, just for the sake of having a job. And finally, if you are going to do anything, you need to be prepared for what's ahead.

Take the time to prepare a resume and search for jobs around your area BEFORE you even contemplate leaving the one you are at. Five to ten years ago, you could have walked out the door without thinking twice and found another job within a matter of days. Today, that is not the case and you need to understand how truly valuable your job is. Don't take it for granted, because some people don't have a job at all. This is yet another reason why you need to keep the job that you have, no matter how miserable it makes you, until you find another one.

You can guarantee that even when you're in a career rut, you'll be less miserable working somewhere that you hate than being unemployed and not able to pay your bills. If you want to find a new job, that's absolutely fine. You just need to do so while working at the one that you have so that you don't lose everything or end up working in a worse job because you jumped the gun. Getting stuck in the rut of a day-in and day-out job that you hate is never a fun experience. However, given the current state of the economy, you need to be very careful in planning your career switch or change of jobs before you do anything drastic that will cost you dearly in the end.

I have always wanted to stay in Portugal.. Live and work there. I love their colorful medieval villages, charming seaside towns; ancient castles, romantic palaces, and a rich architectural and archaeological heritage. :D

Can somebody please tell me if I won't have a hard time looking for a job there? I'm a Registered Nurse, by the way.

Obrigado pessoas! :P

I agree, resume writing is extremely important to get yourself a good job.
Job seekers everywhere absolutely have to understand the importance of a CV and a resume. When you submit them together, you are going a prospective employer a much more in depth look at your experience and skills. That serves a technical purpose. More to the point, when you submit both documents, it definitely says something about your dedication as well. A potential interviewer will see that you put a lot of time, effort, and thought into applying for the position, and that often makes the best impression of all.
